COE celebrates the New Year of 2019

On January 13, 2019, the College of Engineering (COE) held a year-end meeting and celebration on the university campus for all the faculty and staff.

 

Thirteen scholars from the College of Engineering listed as the 2018 Most Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier

The 2018 list includes a total of 1,899 scholars from 229 universities or research institutions in China.

Seven faculty members from the College of Engineering named 2018 Highly Cited Researchers

They are Associate Professor Zhongkui Li, Professor Zhisheng Duan, Professor Yanglong Hou, Professor Xiaowei Zhan, Associate Professor Shaojun Guo, Professor Long Wang, and Professor Anyuan Cao.

Two COE teachers receive awards at the 18th PKU Teaching Contest for Young Teachers

Assistant Professor Qing Zhang from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering took the Second Prize and won the Excellent Lesson Plan.

Professor Shaojun Guo elected as FRSC

Recently, Professor Shaojun Guo from Department of Materials Science & Engineering, College of Engineering, was elected as Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC).

Asteroid 79286 Hexiantu named in the honor of Dr. Xiantu He of CAPT

The asteroid 79286 Hexiantu was discovered at Xinglong, Beijing on Sept. 28, 1995 by Beijing Schmidt CCD Asteroid Program. Its provisional number is 1995 SQ53.

Professor Cunbiao Lee invited as the associate editor of AIAA Journal

At present, Professor Lee is also a member of the editorial board of Phys. of Fluids, one of the two major journals in fluid mechanics.

 

Peking University and DeTao Join Hands to Meet "Grand Challenges"

On December 15, 2018, the signing ceremony of the PKU-DeTao Collaboration Agreement for the Grand Challenges Scholars Program (GCSP) was held at Peking University.

On December 15, 2018, Dr. C. Daniel Mote, President of National Academy of Engineering (NAE), received honorary doctorate of Peking University.

The 4th International Conference on High Energy Density Physics successfully held in Ningbo

More than 30 famous scholars from the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Japan, Czech and other countries, as well as more than 150 experts, scholars and students from China attended the conference.
